Construction Begins!

Construction approval was granted by the BOD on November 25, 2003.

Construction commenced on November the 29th!

The before look- along Enola and Harrisburg yard.

The construction team made great progress that first weekend.  The top level the Harrisburg area.  The lover level (the 2x4) is the future home of the Enola terminal area.

Well it's not as big as Harrisburg, but it should work - the curved switch in foreground is "Roy"

The double crossover will serve as "State" for movements from the west (up the main line) or coming out of the Harrisburg yard/staging tracks.

8/29/2004 Updates

Looking east through the West end of Enola - the track down the middle is the run through/main line.  To the right is the relay yard and left is inbound and storage.

Looking west at the West end of Enola.  the stub track is for cabin storage.

Looking west through "Day"  The switch in the foreground is "Lemo".

The Helix has been started.

I used the Helix Calculator to start the process. .Also articles in December 2004 & April 2005 "RMC".  The roadbed is from a local Lancaster company that builds furniture and gives away the tailings.  They are 3/4" thick x 7 1/2" x 32".  Only four basic sizes are needed to build the helix.  It is comprised of four turns 60" wide x 84" long and will be19" high.  About 75' of track on the main route and 55' on the Lancaster branch.  The grade is mostly 1.8% with some 2.25%.  The FM TrainMaster is on the Shocks to Lemo track, the track next to the engine is Day to Lemo.  CP Lemo is located on the first turn (under the glue bottle.  10/25/2005

The switch in the foreground is the lead to Bruner Island, the next switch up (on the other main) is CP Shocks. 10/25/2005

11/4/2005 The work train approaches the last section of track to be installed.

The missing section of track.  The double crossover is mostly just a cross over to get the Roy to Shocks route over the Centerville Industrial.

The work tain takes to the crossover to start the first multi level connection.  The track to the right of the locomotive is the connection to Cola.  It will cross over to the missing left foreground track to continue onto Centerville and Lancaster 11/4/2004 12:00am.

More later - access panels and tower controls
